Is the “Mumbaikaran” of Bombay successful?

When the city’s name was officially changed (rather “reverted to the original”) from Bombay to Mumbai in 1995, many (including yours truly) were skeptical if this change will actually get implemented. Many students were worried that “Mumbai University” would lack the punch “Bombay University” would have when they applied for further studies abroad.

So has the change in name been successful? So lets do a little experiment to measure the "sucess"? Simply search for the word "Mumbai" on Google and you will get 71,900,000 results... while "Bombay" will give you 27,700,000 results. Wot sayz u?

3M wonders - Hmmm... when will pseudo-anglicised people start calling the city मुंबई instead of मुम्बाय?
