If the hyper-animated anchors of the Hindi news channels are to be believed, the law and order situation in Maharashtra is worse than some banana republic! There is no doubt that there is a tense situation in the state over violence in protest of UP-Biharisation spearheaded by MNS. But instead of calming down the situation, the “national” media and UP-Bihar politicians seem to be instigating more violence.
So the question is… If Maharashtra has become so rabidly anti-North, how come the Gurta Gaddi Celebrations at Nanded have seen no violence? The secret lies in not provoking the locals into reacting… but working with them in a constructive manner. If the Akali Dal planned a rally in Nanded where they would have enticed the Sikhs to flex their political muscle, you could be sure that locals would have been provoked into reacting... not necessarily in a violent manner.
Let’s realise that the current situation in Maharashtra has arisen due to provocation by the UP-Bihari Politicians last year. But Lalu Yadav seems to be hell bent on further aggravating the situation with the statements he has made today. He has asked all the Bihari MPs and MLAs to resign over this issue. With Lok Sabha election just 6 months away, he has nothing to loose… But if the Bihar Assembly is dissolved, Nitish Kumar's tenure will be cut short by 2 years! चित भी मेरी… पट भी मेरा!
His game plan seems to be of provoking the Marathi Manoos into reacting violently on the Chhat Puja and then pressurize the Central Government to impose President’s rule in the state. This is some thing that Congress will be unwilling to do given that they are partners in the State Government. Using this excuse, he will withdraw support and prepone the Lok Sabha elections… enough political mileage to increase his seats in the next Lok Sabha.

I am not talking of violence in protest of Raj's arrest...
ReplyDeleteWith an estimated 5 Lac Sikhs coming to Nanded, there was no violence... this was an example to show that law and order situation is not out of hand in the state!

ReplyDeletecoz marathi politicians are spineless
ReplyDeleteI'm let down by the mindset of educated "marathi manoos".....y can't u realize the politians dirty interests in their dirty speeches......i agree with u tht laloo is using this situation to get a stonghold on bihar only.....but u accept tht y do 4get raj thakerey is not bhagwan Ram in any case.....before he initiated this issue no one even knew his name..... by playing with sentiments he's just trying to get a stonghold on maharashtra's politics.....he's just as bad as ny laloo aur mayawati...he's no different.....
ReplyDeleten of news channels....they r just doing their jobs....they r potraying tht viloence is happeneing....n its claiming innocent lives......u guys r upset just bcoz the media is now potraying a bad side of your home....whn media potrays violence happening in other states like orrisa...thn y do u accept the media's stand on tht....

ReplyDeleteIf you have read the blog, violence in condemned! Its neither pro or anti raj... it is reportage of what is seen here. If i am not in orissa, I cant comment about the things going on there. This blog is just trying to show the root cause of the current situation which the news channels fail to see.
The problem is that news channels are not doing their job. please check my "media" posts where double speak has been exposed.
such stupid omments that sikhs celebrated gurta gaddi, then how come NO violence?
ReplyDelete1. sikhs did not come for violence.
2. Sikhs were in huge number, 100-200 MNS workers could do nothing.
3. HAD there been any wish to do violence, who would come forward to attack 5 lakh sikhs, many of whom were armed with shining swords ready to slit any throat that speaks INJUSTICE.
4. Such eye wash articles be kept in the rooms of the writer alone.
and what do you want to prove by showing picture of Sikhs in the blog? did u not see the "kirpans" they are wearing? lolz. after seeing the foto alone many MNS people would go back
@ Gareeb
ReplyDeletePlease realise that the impression created by the Hindi media is that law and order is a big issue in Maharashtra and everyday north indians are being bashed...
This article was to prove that wrong...
And let me tell you that Sikhs in Maharashtra are respected for their excellent relationship with the local community... and not bcoz the weild their kirpans!
We learnt as kids about the Sikh teachings of "mix like sugar in Milk"... and sikhs in Maharashtra have demonstrated that!
Request you to read the entire blog to understand the context instead of your "flexing the muscle" knee jerk reaction on one post!
BTW congratulations on ur blog that keeps the Sikh traditions flying high...

ReplyDeletei know MNS is not against whole north india. BUT y even against UP or bihar?
these two states dont come in india? do the people there have lesser pair of eyes? or are they not human beings?
stop this hatred. a nation is complete when its together.
today u have MNS that discriminates between people if different states.
tomorro chembur people will say we are against say, andheri people
then people of one society will say we are against the next society.
people living in one building against other building.
one flat agaisnt other and so on!
end it now.
this is my last post here

ReplyDeletePlease look in your own backyard... there is anti Bihari slogans in Punjab due to the migrant issue...
http://www.ndtv.com/convergence/ndtv/story.aspx?id=NEWEN20080071873
If you see the article above, UPites like Mishra have started a party representing people from "UP & Bihar" in Punjab... This is exactly what I have shown in my blog... the tendency of UP-Biharites to flex their political muscle when they migrate... instead of assimilating with the locals
Do read my other post about anti-MNS protests in Ludhiana.
Also dont forget that during the Anti-sikh violence in 1984, Sikhs in Maharashtra faced minimal damage!
@ gareeb
ReplyDeleteI have actually condemned the violence by MNS time and again on this blog... Supporting the Marathi cause is not equal to accepting MNS violence!
Please ask these questions to UP-bihari parties trying to break Mumbai from Maharashtra... instead of pointing fingures @ Marathi Manoos
