A blog that captures the happenings in Maharashtra and rest of the Marathi World (Bruhanmaharashtra) through the eyes of a 3M – Madhyamvargiya Marathi Manoos (Middleclass Marathi Man). Neither is it a view of the anglicized minority which has lost touch with its roots... nor does it speak for the Marathi masses who may lack the “worldview”. Just a somewhere-in-between viewpoint… but a firm viewpoint indeed!
look around you... do u see 90% Marathi people in an organisation? Forget about Mumbai... i was in recently in Pune and asked directions in Marathi @ 7 locations and not one responded in Marathi!
BTW I am not for any kind of reservation... coz it builds complacency in a person
definitely not the private sector or the organised sector but those figures were from state units....u could say that maybe the GR is manipulated but if you visit for e.g Mumbai University, co-operative banks, police dept..you have a large no. of marathis working there....infact there's this theory we had in engg. college that ki boss agar boss iniversity mein kaam karaneka hai toh marathi mein baat kar....
what happened to u in Pune is ofcourse not Murphy's law but maybe next time u ask in hindi ull get a reply in marathi ;-)
many a times perception is given fuel in politics without considerable factual backing.... what i say above may not be applicable to the railways but in many other instances....
as for reservation....that has become more of a political weapon than a socialist remedial measure...
some fodder for thought....
